Candy colored embroidered art quilts

Embroidered-Art-Quilts

I can’t quilt for nuts but that doesn’t stop me from appreciating works done by avid quilters.  In fact, my best friend loves to quilt!

But I’m usually exposed to quilts of large sizes so these smaller embroidered art quilts measuring 4″ x 4″ from The Silly Boodilly really caught my eye with their colorful and pretty designs.

I like the fact that these art quilts were inspired by simple objects like candy colored buttons and mother nature and because they’re small pieces, it’s easy to get them framed up for enjoyment.  They’ll definitely make great decor items in a room.

The Silly Boodilly doesn’t seem to ship outside United States but I suppose there’s no harm checking with Victoria if you’re keen on purchasing her work.

Cute handmade bag with cat embroidery

Cute-handmade-bag-with-cat-embroidery

My best friend made this cute bag and I love it!  It’s very simple, made with a combination of linen and floral patterned cloth plus lace.  The inside of it is lined with the same floral patterned cloth which you see at the bottom.  And the cute embroidered back of the cat adds the final touch.

She uses it to carry some of the craft books and supplies on jewelry making when she goes for classes.  Very Japanese!   I likey!

It’s not for sale though.

Cute embroidery patterns for stitching fun

Cute stitching kits

I haven’t been embroidering for awhile.  Work commitment, parenting duties, blah blah.  But as soon as I saw these fun and cute stitching patterns by Jenny Hart at Sublime Stitching, I know I should get started again soon.

Unlike the Japanese inspired embroidery patterns that I was working on, most of the designs here are modern and edgy, but nonetheless as cute.  Collections range from forest friends, flowers, swanky decor, country cool, mod fashion to sushi bar and they are anything but boring or stuffy.

All designs come as a sheet of reusable iron-on embroidery pattern and prices start from US$3.50.  In addition, you can check out their different embroidery kits like their total starter embroidery kits with quality supplies all in one tidy package for those who haven’t even handled a needle or thread.

International shipping is available so you can right about stitch these cute patterns wherever you’re based!
